the-economic-causes-world-war

The papers in this volume were solicited by the Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade, in order to highlight the key economic issues related to the period on both sides of the great divide created by the First World War. The papers aim to analyze the economic causes of the First World War and give an overview of the economic developments up to the onset of the Great Depression, as well as to shed light on the role and impact of economic ideas and ideologies of the time. The volume brings attention to the heavy and disastrous impact on the economies and societies of the region, and the way they embarked on the post-war reconstruction within a profoundly changed world.
